Welcome to Hugtopia! We're so happy to have you all here. We know it can be stressful, starting in a game (or adding a character!) so in an effort to help, we bring you an Intro CR Meme!

We'll be posting this meme each application cycle for all players to meet and plot together, so please be sure to keep an eye out and help each other feel welcome. And be sure to check back often; someone may have a fun new idea in the middle of the night that you might not want to miss out on!

It is recommended that new players or new characters include (NEW) in your subject line, so other players know to welcome you! You can also leave a comment to the NEW top-level mod thread with a link to your own top-level, so people can easily find you.

Brief personality: He's a cocky asshole who's always smiling. Everyone at home calls him stupid blindfold because they're Super Tired of his dumb pranks and way-too-casual attitude. Otherwise, he's super friendly! Knows no personal space.

He's considered the strongest shaman in his world, so his cockiness comes from that.

He actually cares about his students (currently Megumi Fushiguro and Yuuji Itadori are the ones currently just arrived at Havenwell alongside him). Not that he's a great teacher, though.

Brief history: He's born as a prodigy in the shaman world. He has a falling out with the best and only friend he had during high school, who decides they're sick and tired of protecting people who can't defend themselves from curses. Satoru also decides the Shaman hierarchy/society is shit and becomes a teacher so he can get the younger generation to change it.

Shipping Preferences: Himself Curses None.

What your character wants/needs: People to bully. People who won't mind his lack of personal space. Learn about the world and figure out a better way to keep his powers aside from contact.

Seeking: I would like Satoru to explore the world and try to be more involved with future plots. Aside from that, I'd like to start off with getting CR established!

Appearance: Tall boy. He's 175cm/5'8", blue eyes, and perma-bed hair because he cannot be bothered.

Brief personality: Megumi is a seemingly cold ice king. That's the keyword though 'seemingly', he just has a strong moral compass and doesn't feel like talking about himself, but he likes people. Though he could fire back some petty insults if provoked, he wouldn't back down in an argument. Also he takes his coffee black every time, and it's not because he's trying to impress a girl.

Brief history: Megumi was unofficially adopted by an unpleasant nuisance because his actual family is Complicated. Years down the road he became a sorcerer that exorcises evil spirits. The unpleasant nuisance is his homeroom teacher, Yuuji Itadori is his classmate. If asked, he goes to a religion-based technical college, not uh, actually fighting evil spirits.

Shipping Preferences: None, I'm open to everything!

What your character wants/needs: 'Contact partners', Megumi is going to seek out people who he can negotiate contacts on a semi-frequent basis for mutual benefit. What he needs though is more friends because he's just so cold and clinical at the surface. If your character wants to vent about Satoru Gojou, he's free.

Seeking: Establishing CR, but I'd love to have him explore the world and get involved with the plot once he's established.

Appearance: Full body (ok no he doesn't wear that outfit ever, he's usually in this getup). Might not look like it but he's pretty build! Oh and heavy, so careful not to get your tiny ones under him when he falls!

Brief personality: Your typical Weekly Shounen Jump protagonist! Boisterous, energetic, one happy ball of sunshine! Also a huge dog. He has a heart of gold but isn't super smart so he might just do something very stupid or reckless... (already did) Yeah. He's super chill and amiable - the cliche kind who's like you exchange names? You have become friends with Yuuji. Yuuji will now die for you. He lives to protect lives!!11

As chill as he is, though, he can get angry too! But it's highly unlikely anyone will anger him here in Hugs... We'll see.

Brief history: Some idiot decides to eat a finger and his life (as well as others) change thanks to it. Nothing very important. Maybe. He's just someone on a suspended execution sentence, busy fighting off cursed spirits with some magical power in the meantime nbd.

Shipping Preferences: Whatever goes! I don't plan when it comes to ships. The chemical reacts? Off we go.

What your character wants/needs:

▸︎	He wants to go home, haha. A lot is happening in his world and he feels responsible for a lot of things. He's in this conflicted state because he's under the impression that he needs to work on physical contacts as much as he can so the gods won't need him anymore, BUT at the same time, getting money for touches doesn't sit well with him, so... yeah.
▸︎	He always needs more people around him! Any kinds of CR is welcome, really. Getting to know people is extremely fun for him! It'll be interesting if he can get someone who can bicker with him about mundane things. Or if someone can actually scare him off (very rare but not impossible). So yeah, friends, frenemies, what have you. COME AT HIM!!

Seeking: I'd like him to have a good balance between CR building and plot involvement. World explorations is definitely an A+ thing though he probably isn't much help with the thinking part. He'll be the brawn to the brains! He's here to do some work, not sit around!! (That being said, some relaxation time is good too... I'm here for it.)

Appearance: [Ref: here!] She features long white hair, golden eyes (notably with purple iris), large pointed elf like-ears, and distinctive red markings on her face. She's about 5'4 currently. She tends to dress in teal or other colors, notably not in the dark robes represented in her icons.
Brief personality: Soft spoken and introverted, she has a reserved demeanor, the kind that's more likely to be found observing from the side of the room than to engage others unless something has gotten her attention to do so.
Brief history: Her life is a tragic sort of tale accompanied by a year and change of CRAU from Drift Fleet. This experience affected her and the choices she's made since, thanks to having an extended break from her previous environment and learning how to adjust. More importantly, she had people to talk to during critical moments while she dealt with all sorts of issues, which Helped A Lot in guiding her toward who she is now.
Shipping Preferences: Not impossible, but it's very complicated...

What your character wants/needs: What she wants is to secure her future with Lup and Taako, which mostly involves a lot of research of the state of this world and taking risks on information gathering but she's... learning... to be more careful. She's been here for a full year! She's had a lot of significant experiences, positive and negative, even recently, that have definitely left an impact.

As for "needs", she's still generally learning how to People, she's Managing but this is an ongoing thing really. She's still more likely to seem stiff and awkward around those she's less familiar with depending on circumstances, bonds take time.

Seeking: More CR building opportunities really!

She is a good listener. Her interests right now are fairly limited due to her general lack of experiences, though she's working on that. She's a bit shyer/slower to open up around unfamiliar people, but don't let that stop you. As sort of an antithesis to this, she's the main server at the cafe Affurgato, which gives her more of a chance to greet others more comfortably because at least it's her job to do so, and if they wish to carry on a conversation from there it's at least practice.

If your character has some kind of noticeable unusual energy, (whether it's magical, psychic or otherwise), feel free to let me know whether or not you'd want her to be aware of it in some way, since she's pretty sensitive to that sort of thing! She likely wouldn't bring it up though. Or if the reverse applies, she probably pings as weirdly magical depending on what's going on.

Has some pretty bad internal hatred going on, but when you're told you're full of darkness and abandoned as a child, that happens.
Brief history: Fought a war against a fell dragon and zombies. Survived some (hinted) horrible shit when he was a child, and has scars to prove it.
Shipping Preferences: He's open. The game only really has hetero pairings, but I play him as bi/pan so /shrug.

What your character wants/needs: Friends, friend to more, someone who can actually make physical contact without him flinching horribly. He's an introvert with slight touch-phobia, so he's a piece of work and needs help.

Brief personality: A sweet sunshine girl clinging to her bitterness like a security blanket. Loves fairies and princesses, also voodoo. Practical and hardworking, a real go-getter as long as she actually has a direction! Just generally kind of intense.
Brief history: Good Girl gets used by her prince charming, goes on a wild rampage pursuing revenge before calming down enough to decide that while the revenge isn't called off, she should do slightly less rampaging and a lot more working on herself.
Shipping Preferences: Kyoko is the final boss of this dating sim, are you really up for this

What your character wants/needs: People to pester, mother hen, argue with, take her to task when she's unreasonable and dumb. She also just needs more things to do; she’s still very sad that her attempt at making it in robo show-biz crashed and burned. And she always wants friends!

Seeking: Negative CR is welcome too! Long term goals are to challenge some of her notions about relationships and boundaries, but that's gonna be a project. Short term goals are to be a little less Bored and Lonely, but she's slowly getting there.

Appearance: Four foot tall bubble gum fairy. Here is an ancient reference sheet. She emotes extremely infrequently/very subtly. If you ever get to see her as a plant (yes), she looks like this!

Brief personality: Quiet. The quietest. She's in a constant existential crisis because she had to grow up a little too fast and never figured out who she was allowed to be, because she's not (in her opinion) a very good pikmin OR a very good person! Thought it'd be for the best if she just existed in the background and people forgot about her, but found out that SUCKS because she'd really like to belong somewhere. She's doing her best! To figure things out! Kinda socially awkward, but very willing to hold your hand.

She loves loves books and consuming all knowledge. Not so secretly a huge fantasy nerd. Very fond of robots. She's probably not going to be super phased by a lot of weird events because that's Normal for her.

Brief history: Vianca comes from a really weird place called Smash Academy that was chock full of oddities and interdimensional students and all that fun stuff. Havenwell is like, super normal to her. She pretty much lived her whole life at this school run by giant hands where half the students were actually Pokemon or whatever but they learned how to be people and I know its weird, I promise I do. She's had some Trauma, was a school nurse assistant, and was put in charge of a giant interdimensional library. Then she died! Whoops!

But now she is here. You can find her at her shop, having a questionable amount of sleepovers at Noctis' house, or reading books to cats at Ohma's or flowers in the botanical gardens.

Shipping Preferences: INTENSE HAND HOLDING AND INNOCENT CRUSHES ONLY. She will friendship and found family all day.

What your character wants/needs: We're still working on the whole stability and becoming comfortable with herself thing. She's starting to get a little louder, especially around certain people, so! Progress! Actual For Real Friends are always nice, it's really lonely knowing you don't have anywhere to go home to beyond the place you're in now.

Seeking: Friends and willing hand holding partners. Need some sweet points for your bank account, just pick her up and put her in your pocket. She needs to buy books! For her shop!!!

Vianca also has an approximate knowledge of various other canons from other students/books she's read from other places, so if you would rather she Not Know or wanna discuss what she would know, I can work with that! He's also not very princely, which can be a problem, because he is one.
Brief history: tired prince goes on a road trip with his bros to get married. kingdom falls overnight. tired prince evolves into tired king, road trip evolves into revenge and reclaim plot. gods wake up to yell in his direction. evolves into tired chosen one. generally a bad time is had by all. on the plus side: there are chocobos.
Shipping Preferences: he has a girlfriend! he's as surprised as anyone. he's not super public about it yet but platonic ships only please!

What your character wants/needs: he's had a really rough go lately, thanks to an especially mean canon update, so some kind people would be appreciated. friends! or heck even someone aggressive who can help him regain his old moods and tempers by riling him up, maybe. sparring partners welcome.

Brief history: crystal turned person, split personalities, some trauma, please help her save the world by getting her back home, it's dangerous for her to be here. all her old comrades are dead and/or trying to kill or use her. none of them know what she truly is. also she can see the future and change it. also also she can bring people back to life and restore forms. also also also she's set to destroy the world and mayyybe remake it, but she doesn't want to destroy it in the first place, so she's trying to not do that, but It's Complicated! anyway yeah let's get her home.

Brief personality: Your typical Persona protagonist! He's reserved and quiet, operating like he has a word quota per day, but he cares a lot about the people around him and will do his best to help out anyone. Loyal, dedicated, and way less aloof and apathetic than at the beginning of his series. Always puts others ahead of himself. Loves all things music, eating a ridiculous amount of food, and sometimes has a bad habit of napping in weird places. He swears he's not just ranking up Social Links when he spends time and hangs out with people. :)

Brief history: Sort of just gave up his soul to save all of humanity after learning about the power of friendship, basically. :)

What your character wants/needs: ALL of the Social Links, please! Like I said, he's a typical Persona protagonist, so hand holding and hugs are always a go! He's not shy about that at all. Appearance: He thinks he's hot af, and will occasionally put a glamour on to have hair highlights to match or complement his sister, Lup. Normally though, his hair is just blond and braided or tied back.
Brief personality: He's a bit more jaded than his twin sister and while they're both a little difficult to get to know, Taako is the more cautious and pragmatic of the pair. He's got more barbs to him after over a decade of being alone and after a century of making transient connections to all but 6 other people, he's still getting used to the idea that people are permanent and worth getting to know again. That said, he's friendly enough and shows he cares through his food, of which there is a lot and it's delicious. He shows friendship by teasing mercilessly, but also is 100% willing to throw down when it counts and save people even if he grumbles about it.
Brief history: Taako is the other half of the D&D elf twins (conjuration) and also travelled from world to world to stop the world-consuming embodiment of ennui. He, however, had his memory erased for over 10 years, forgot he had a sister, and became a shell of his former self - something that he's gotten over thanks to some CRAU (Drift Fleet) shenanigans, but with which he's still quietly dealing with.
Shipping Preferences: He's gay af and DTF, even though he's actually pretty hard to get to know. He's more of a one and done kind of guy due to his past, but once he catches feelings, he falls quick and hard.

What your character wants/needs: People to put up with him, people to pay him for food because he's one of the main chefs at Affurgato! He needs friends because he has a tendency to just get by with flimsy connections and pretend like he's okay when he's really, really not.

"Pals I'm not as talented as you" becomes "TCH, I'M NOT LIKE YOU GUYS..." and then he gets all surprised when people get mad at him for saying stuff like that. Giyu's distant and quiet and tries to hide the fact that he has a heart but he super does, he's secretly a sentimental idiot.

Brief history: Survivor's Guilt: The Character. No parents, raised by his older sister, sister dies saving him from Demons. Giyu meets his best friend while they're training to become Demon Slayers, his best friend dies like a huge hero during their final test before joining the Demon Slayer Corps, they're like 15 tops and it destroys Giyu emotionally because he got like super owned and passed anyway. EVERYONE HE CARES ABOUT DIES, TIME TO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE,,, Passing the final exam on a technicality feels like not passing to him because his bestie was so much better at everything, so he slam dunks into working as hard as he can and accidentally earns himself the highest rank a Demon Slayer can achieve. He doesn't wanna be there.

Brief history: A lot of people have died in likely two different points in his life when he was a child, leaving him the lone "monkey" with a blood stained face. He's a ninja with huge survivors guilt and fiercely loyal to Yukimura, who he considers his light and would die for. Things aren't going well for the Takeda Army, so that's even more stress on Sasuke. If you want to know more, here is his application.

Brief history: Ciel is the sole survivor of the Phantomhive family slaughter besides his fathers butler, Tanaka. He was kidnapped and sold to a cult who tortured him for a month before preparing to sacrifice him a month later when he summoned a demon, contracted him, and killed all the cultists before returning home to take over the Phantomhive Earldom at ten years old.

Appearance: Lean but muscular build with shoulder length brown hair and a dusting of facial hair. Blue eyes with a visible horizontal scar through the left one, though most of the time he wears sunglasses and that won't be visible.

Brief personality: Devon is generally quiet and rather shy as he hasn't had normal experiences in life. Friends are a foreign concept to him. However, he has a very high ranking role in his world and is able to act the part and take command without difficulty. Even so he's exceedingly humble and never flaunts his abilities or rank. If people get to know him, they're realize he has a rather quirky personality and likes to tease.

Brief history: Born to magician parents, his family went into hiding right after he was born due to a thread on his father's life. He watched them get murdered when he was six years old. After living on the streets for a bit he was adopted by a ninja clan and taught staff fighting until the leader of his magician clan found him when he was eleven. He began learning magic but was generally an outcast among the other magician children. He was later picked as the "chosen magician" to try and reunite all of the magician clans, a task that nobody has succeeded in doing. Is primarily an elemental magician and focuses mostly on water. And he's blind. No big deal.

Shipping Preferences: Probably female, but he has no experience with this. At all. Poor guy will die of embarrassment.

What your character wants/needs: At his point Devon is just going to want to understand what is going on. Being accepted has always been his one main desire too. He'll also want to learn more magic because he's like a kid in a candy store with it and finds any part of it AMAZING.

• Hummy is a magical talking cat living in a world of music called Major Land. There are humans, furries, living musical instruments that play themselves, and a lot of other magic talking cats there.
• Every year, a "Song Fairy" is selected to sing the "Melody of Happiness" which keeps balance in Major Land. This is a very big honor. Hummy is chosen this year!
• Bad guys claiming to be from Minor Land show up (including (former?!) bestie) and try to steal all the notes from the score during the Big Important Concert
• The Queen of Major Land sends all the notes to Earth to prevent the bad guys from getting them. Sends Hummy and the Fairy Tones to collect them.
• Magical girls (Precure) happen. Hummy lives with one of them. They all work together to collect the notes for the Legendary Score while stopping the bad guys from trying to do the same.

Appearance: Pretty boy grump here. He’s 5’7, pale, kind of looks like he doesn’t get enough sleep and the most noticeable thing about him apart those things and his stupid hair is that his eyes glow because he’s been injected with Mako like other SOLDIERS have.

Brief personality: Grumpy merc who has a heart of gold but kind of acts like a dick because he thinks it makes him look cool and badass. SOMEHOW it doesn’t. He’s also very awkward and kind of shy but also super loyal if he warms up to you and really dorky. Sometimes says things that he thinks sound cool but actually sound really stupid. Also cats don’t like him.

Brief history: Ex-member of elite superhuman squad SOLDIER and employee of world dominating company Shinra except Cloud quit years ago after a traumatic incident and after finding what fuckers Shinra are. He then became a merc and ended up working for an eco terrorist group and then lots of crazy shit happened.

To avoid Remake and original game spoilers, I will say that Cloud’s history is a little bit more complicated than what I’ve written and there are certain things that aren’t what they seem and people who don’t mind spoilers or have played the games can read his app here

Shipping Preferences: He’s got crushes on two women back home and hasn’t worked out how he really feels about them yet. Short term-wise I want him to get settled here with gen CR for at least the first month or two but in the long term, I won’t say that shipping is off-limits! We’ll probably need to talk it out first though and the chances are it’ll be a slow burn because of Cloud’s million deep-seated issues.

What your character wants/needs:

- Cloud really wants to go home but will grudgingly accept he’s here for the time being. His only hope of getting out is finding out what’s going on. And while he’ll be less open about admitting it, he’ll want to help others here so he’ll be willing to help with exploring and research for that.

- And he also really wants friends and to spend time with people. He’s not going to easily admit this because he thinks it’s going to ruin his badass SOLDIER image. THAT SAID, canon has caused him to drop the cold-hearted act a little but he’s still going to keep some distance and tsun a little. He can be persuaded to do activities with you though if you push him (and it's surprisingly easy to do provided you're not a complete asswipe).

- He’ll want to do mercenary work, which he does at home. It’ll be something familiar to him. At some point, I’ll get him to set up a proper business once I get enough AC points.

- Exploring. I’d like to get him into some plot to help figure out what’s going on in this world and assist in fighting, etc.

He's also ridiculously sad and incredibly practiced at keeping that under wraps! Blue and anxious! A doormat of a boy! But treat him well and he'll wring himself dry trying to be useful. Brief history: After losing his mom and being abandoned by his dad, Shinji spends a good portion of his life doing nothing significant until he's called upon by said dad to risk his life time and time again fighting giant space(???) monsters in a super fighting robot of his very own.
