Welcome to Hugtopia! We're so happy to have you all here. We know it can be stressful, starting in a game (or adding a character!) so in an effort to help, we bring you an Intro CR Meme!
We'll be posting this meme each application cycle for all players to meet and plot together, so please be sure to keep an eye out and help each other feel welcome. And be sure to check back often; someone may have a fun new idea in the middle of the night that you might not want to miss out on!

Timezone: BST for the moment until I return to Spain barring real world issues.
Brief Intro: Hi I am a lazy ass Brit who spends most of her time on the north coast of Spain teaching English to hyper children and grumpy teens, WHICH I ENJOY EVEN WITH ALL MY COMPLAINING. Fandoms include Final Fantasys IV-X-2, XIII and XIII-2 (until I get off my arse and play XV), Kingdom Hearts, Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, Kate Daniels series, October Daye series, anything which is a murder mystery and Disney. Also recently got into the new She-Ra reboot, La Casa Del Papel/Money Heist and The Good Place.

(NEW) Cloud Strife
Character Name: Cloud Strife
Canon: Final Fantasy VII Remake
Age: 21
Appearance: Pretty boy grump here. He’s 5’7, pale, kind of looks like he doesn’t get enough sleep and the most noticeable thing about him apart those things and his stupid hair is that his eyes glow because he’s been injected with Mako like other SOLDIERS have.
Brief personality: Grumpy merc who has a heart of gold but kind of acts like a dick because he thinks it makes him look cool and badass. SOMEHOW it doesn’t. He’s also very awkward and kind of shy but also super loyal if he warms up to you and really dorky. Sometimes says things that he thinks sound cool but actually sound really stupid. Also cats don’t like him.
Brief history: Ex-member of elite superhuman squad SOLDIER and employee of world dominating company Shinra except Cloud quit years ago after a traumatic incident and after finding what fuckers Shinra are. He then became a merc and ended up working for an eco terrorist group and then lots of crazy shit happened.
To avoid Remake and original game spoilers, I will say that Cloud’s history is a little bit more complicated than what I’ve written and there are certain things that aren’t what they seem and people who don’t mind spoilers or have played the games can read his app here
Shipping Preferences: He’s got crushes on two women back home and hasn’t worked out how he really feels about them yet. Short term-wise I want him to get settled here with gen CR for at least the first month or two but in the long term, I won’t say that shipping is off-limits! We’ll probably need to talk it out first though and the chances are it’ll be a slow burn because of Cloud’s million deep-seated issues.
What your character wants/needs:
- Cloud really wants to go home but will grudgingly accept he’s here for the time being. His only hope of getting out is finding out what’s going on. And while he’ll be less open about admitting it, he’ll want to help others here so he’ll be willing to help with exploring and research for that.
- And he also really wants friends and to spend time with people. He’s not going to easily admit this because he thinks it’s going to ruin his badass SOLDIER image. THAT SAID, canon has caused him to drop the cold-hearted act a little but he’s still going to keep some distance and tsun a little. He can be persuaded to do activities with you though if you push him (and it's surprisingly easy to do provided you're not a complete asswipe).
- He’ll want to do mercenary work, which he does at home. It’ll be something familiar to him. At some point, I’ll get him to set up a proper business once I get enough AC points.
Seeking:
- Exploring. I’d like to get him into some plot to help figure out what’s going on in this world and assist in fighting, etc.
- Doing mercenary work. He can even be persuaded to do minor stuff like looking for your lost dog for a petty reward (although he’ll complain about it the whole time).
- Friends! People who can get him out of his shell a little! Also enemies and frenemies, people to banter with. And people who will troll the shit out of him because it’s really not that hard.
- Opportunities for him to get into ridiculous and comical situations because he’s actually very good at getting into them.

Opt-out post: Because of Remake spoilers and because Cloud uh…..has been through a lot of shit in his backstory and is way more badly affected by it than he realises/would like to admit, let me know if you want to opt out of tagging with him here. Or let me know if you’re fine with tagging him but would rather skirt around/tone down spoilers or certain sensitive topics.
Anything else? Those who threaded with me/I’ve thread with in the Test Drive let me know if any of you want to carry on with Test Drive threads and incorporate them into Hugtopia canon for real. I’m going to make an IC intro post soon and I’ll need to take those things into account!

As for future stuff, Sasuke could probably suggest repair work as a way to do "mercenary" work. It's not just the baths that need repairing in that area, though it's the section Sasuke's most familiar with. (Look, he's bored. He's never had such a peaceful life.) I also offer him for an exploring or sparring buddy, though he hasn't really done much of the former yet in game.

And both of those sound like a good idea! (And oh no Saskuke D: ) Cloud would chip out once he learns a bit more (it'll give him a distraction from thinking about home too much in downtime). Exploring, looking for whatever is undiscovered in the city (when the opportunity presents itself) and sparring would be great too!
