Welcome to Hugtopia! We're so happy to have you all here. We know it can be stressful, starting in a game (or adding a character!) so in an effort to help, we bring you an Intro CR Meme!

We'll be posting this meme each application cycle for all players to meet and plot together, so please be sure to keep an eye out and help each other feel welcome. And be sure to check back often; someone may have a fun new idea in the middle of the night that you might not want to miss out on!

It is recommended that new players or new characters include (NEW) in your subject line, so other players know to welcome you! You can also leave a comment to the NEW top-level mod thread with a link to your own top-level, so people can easily find you.

Brief Intro:
Hey friends! Guess who's currently exhausted 24/7 living that essential worker lifestyle ha. ha.
I'm super into a lot of stuff constantly, big fandoms I enjoy are Evangelion, Hunter x Hunter, Touhou Project, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, IDOLiSH7, Pokemon, Princess Tutu, a myriad of sports animes, a bunch of different magical girl franchises, Animal Crossing, Zelda, Katamari, Fire Emblem... a Lot of things. I'm also into figure collecting, drawing, and cosplaying. Feel free to add me on plurk over at

Character Name: Shinji Ikari

Appearance: World's tamest character design somehow mecha show protagonist. Shinji clocks in at a shrimpy 4'9".
Brief personality: This is what we call a boy-shaped brick of depression. Shinji is a well-meaning and generally polite and quiet kid, who does his best to help out those he comes across and/or stay out of the way (typically the latter tbh). He's also ridiculously sad and incredibly practiced at keeping that under wraps! Blue and anxious! A doormat of a boy! But treat him well and he'll wring himself dry trying to be useful. Maybe he'll even cook for you. Who knows.
Brief history: After losing his mom and being abandoned by his dad, Shinji spends a good portion of his life doing nothing significant until he's called upon by said dad to risk his life time and time again fighting giant space(???) monsters in a super fighting robot of his very own. Amazingly, things just get worse from there!
Shipping Preferences: look I just... /makes vague gestures, shrugs a lot. Don't worry about it.

What your character wants/needs: Right now he's kind of taken to gardening, so if there's anyone out there who might stop by the community garden in the Marshes often, he'd be open to any tips and advice! Barring that, he's really just after people being nice to him or leaving him alone. One of the two.

Seeking: I'm after people who wanna give him a hard time though haha! That and friends are always really good, so anything goes, honestly! I'd also really like him to compare homeworld situations with more people, even if that information is like. friendship level 7 stuff at LEAST. Maybe you just stumble on some trauma of his by accident. Who knows. I'm open to whatever!

Should Devon and Shinji ever meet and Devon realizes he has plants that need watering, he will so be there! No because he likes plants or has any experience with gardening AT ALL, but because he can do water magic and likes being useful.

That sounds like it could be a really fun way for them to meet, for sure! Depending on what the events look like for this month, I'll try to remember and squeeze some kind of garden prompt into whatever toplevel I make.

And your username for him sounds very familiar, though I'm pretty sure I never had CR with you anywhere before.

Oh, we were in Forest Covered together, that might be why you recognize it! I know I had a few threads with Devon there, but I can't for the life of me remember if it was with Shinji or one of my other characters. It's been... a while. And life sure has been life.

Oh gosh, the fact that you remember Devon from there is kind of amazing. He's the only character I'm still playing from way back then. Though admittedly I think that's the last time I played him before picking him up here.

Appearance: The tallest child you've ever seen, probably. Tamaki here is six foot tall and ready for a nap.
Brief personality: Tamaki is a Good Boy with the talent of radiating both older-brother energy and younger-brother energy at the same time. He's big and blunt, but ultimately a well-intentioned guy that likes snacks and sweets, playing video games, and is straight-up scared of ghosts. Also he's an idol! He's really good at dancing and singing! Ask him nicely (or bribe him with desserts) and he will show you!
Brief history: What do you do when your dad abandons your family, your mom dies, and your little sister gets adopted and vanishes mysteriously? Become an idol in order to end up on TV, duh. Tamaki's recent life has been full of singing and dancing, plenty of entertainment-industry drama-slash-hijinks.
Shipping Preferences: No preferences tbh, I'm down with just about anything for this kid ~~if your character can handle the stigma of being a morosexual~~

What your character wants/needs: He wants fun people to hang out with! Despite really wanting to go home, he's currently at a place where he can kind of be laid-back about it, and is at peace with the idea of just hangin' out until everyone can return home.

Seeking: Friends!! Fellow music-lovers and showbiz types to compare experiences with would be grand! But also if anyone wants to bully him I think that would be pretty funny, I'm really just down for whatever :V
