Greetings Hugtopians! In addition to our upcoming event's
Plotting Post, we have a couple of extra things to address today:
1) LORE/ARCHIVE INFORMATION: we've received a few requests on whether or not the lore acquired is available to all residents of the city, or just the characters who received it. Given it's been some time since the lore was handed out in-game, we'd like to collect it all in one document and make it accessible to everyone. However, since those tidbits were distributed to singular characters, we don't want to take that lore away from people who would prefer it not be shared yet. As such, we'd like you to let us know!
If your character would NOT have shared your lore, please PM the mod account to let us know by November 17th at 11:59:59 PM (EST)! All lore pieces should eventually be publicized, but it's fine if you want a bit more time to hold onto it for player-plot reasons for a bit longer.
This isn't required, but if you're fine with the info being shared, leave a comment here so we can get started.
2) UPGRADE TO VIRTUAL REALITY TECHNOLOGY: thanks to the assistance of everyone involved in the VR testing, as well as necessary upgrade requests for players who lack robotic bodies, the majority of VR Cafes around town have been upgraded to a full and direct plug-in system that should work for everyone. Comparable to most futuristic VR media (eg. Sword Art Online or The Matrix), this tech can simulate a person's body based on their mental perception of themselves, but it can (at the discretion of both character and player) adjust or ignore physical disabilities for the sake of accessibility- for example, a blind character could "see" via the headset, and someone who has difficulty walking would find no such trouble in the virtual space.
The graphics are not fully 1:1 with reality, to make it easier not to get lost in the game (for safety's sake!) but it's close enough that interactions are comparable to any you might have in person. You can see, touch, and taste, etc. and those perceptions are simulated with surprising accuracy. Many cafes have now fully networked, so you need not be in the same one to interact with another person! Just remember, these are still public spaces...
That's all for now. Carry on!
