Welcome to Hugtopia! We're so happy to have you all here. We know it can be stressful, starting in a game (or adding a character!) so in an effort to help, we bring you an Intro CR Meme!

We'll be posting this meme each application cycle for all players to meet and plot together, so please be sure to keep an eye out and help each other feel welcome. And be sure to check back often; someone may have a fun new idea in the middle of the night that you might not want to miss out on!

I'm Hen and I was on unplanned hiatus for April thanks to . . . life and the world . . . like many of us, but I miss playing and I'm excited to hop back in and greet the newbies! Appearance: WAVES HANDS. You can take a look here for some detailed info on what's going on with him physically. Here's a picture!
Brief personality: tbh this is also covered in that link, but in short, Magolor is really really cute and friendly and cheerful and helpful, but this is a front for a person who's actually pretty cynical, sarcastic, self-serving, and morally gray. It suits him to be seen as adorable and harmless, so that's how he acts, but he is a genius ex-villain now-salesman who is an expert in self-promotion. That said, he's not reeeeally a bad guy.
Brief history: He tried to take over the universe once and got his ass absolutely handed to him. Now he's a good guy who alternates between being a playable ally and a shopkeeper NPC, but he's still both kind of a troll and definitely an egomaniac who is above all interested in his own profit, both monetary and social.
Shipping Preferences: If you're About That, make it known to me, because I otherwise assume people are not for probably obvious reasons! That doesn't mean I'm against it, but, you know.

What your character wants/needs: He's actually pretty depressed in Hugs right now and could use more people who will either 1. pry at him and force honesty out of this near-pathological liar, or 2. give him tangible work to do; Magolor is also an expert craftsman and loves to take commissions for custom work both mundane and magical. If your character needs a special item crafted, let's talk! It might be in his wheelhouse!

Seeking: See above, but as a player, I'm also down for anything; I like throwing people at each other and seeing how it goes, and am happy with positive CR, negative CR, found family, shipping, professional relationships, science and lore friends (he is deeply invested in the whys of what's going on here), and more. Also, since he is both very focused on earning money and also an adorable little hugball, he makes for great AC rewards. WINK!

Brief Intro: Hi all, I'm the head mod (though I'm useless without my AMAZING co-mods) and I'm kind of a scatterbrain. I like to write (surprise?) and bake (pumpkin rolls are my specialty rn). I plat a lot of games like FF14 and Warframe, FF7R, Nier (so excited for Replicant to finally hit the states!). Appearance: Art by l-amour-du-ciel@tumblr. Much like this but his hair reaches his shoulders, he's still very slender, and he has a glass eye replacing the one that held his faustian contract.
Brief personality: He's still a bit socially awkward but he's friendlier than he was at thirteen. He's still very practical and strategic in most of the things he does but he won't risk lives just to get a job done anymore.
Brief history: ahaha-

Canonically, he's from the end of chapter 129 (less than a month from his 14th birthday) and lived a year in Riverview Quarantine. He then spent six month, and his sixteenth birthday in Drift Fleet before arriving here in Summer 2019. In that year and a half from canon, he learned to be much more self sufficient and accepted some of the curveballs life threw at him with the help of friends in both worlds. Right down to Beverly Crusher removing his cult brand and his faustian contract, breaking his deal with a demon.
Shipping Preferences: He's single af. Because of [SPOILERS] and CRAU, he likely won't be marrying Lizzie in the future, and he does have feelings for someone but he's open to things. If awkward about everything.

What your character wants/needs: Cuddles. God, he's so bad with cuddling. Atm though, he needs a project, he needs to do things. So he'll be focusing on restoring the recently discover Baths. Log Here.

Appearance: He looks like just some grubby teenager, except with a missing eye, scars on his mouth and hands, and a serious lack of smiling.
Brief personality: Probably one of the most serious and least-fun teens out there! He is totally absorbed with training and all the homework that he makes for himself, thinks the whole "hugging" thing here is stupid, and he still doesn't really have any idea how to have fun. Intellectually brilliant but emotionally stupid. Tends to be a little on the obsessive side and is in denial about the fact that he has an anxiety problem.
Brief history: Raised in a necromancy cult and then adopted by vampire hunters... who were kind of also a cult. And then pulled to two (now three) different worlds. His life has been wild.
Shipping Preferences: If you want a story of awkward teens failing at feelings and wrestling with crushes they pretend don't exist, go get 'im.

What your character wants/needs: Coil needs literally any cr!! He lost 95% of all his cr, so he needs friends, enemies, people who bother him, etc. He's surly and mute, so I admit that he isn't easy to get cr with, but I want it for him so bad, whether it's people who genuinely get along with him or will continue to bother him even if they don't. Coil himself is looking for training buddies, fellow magic and science nerds, anyone associated with necromancy or death, or even just other people who like to read.

Seeking: I am all about getting this kid more contacts, whether it is positive or negative cr. Anything to get him interacting with other people in any way. Also, since the last event, he has a SKELETON HORSE so that's a conversation starter. He doesn't exactly flaunt the thing around town, but he does try to keep it in the house because where else is he going to put it?? And nothing can go wrong there, right?

Brief history: Good Girl gets used by her prince charming, goes on a wild rampage pursuing revenge before calming down enough to decide that while the revenge isn't called off, she should do slightly less rampaging and a lot more working on herself.

What your character wants/needs: Friends!! She’s mostly been pretty Bored and Lonely ever since she got to Havenwell. She needs people to pester, mother hen, argue with, take her to task when she's unreasonable and dumb. She also just needs more things to do; she tried to make it in robo show-biz, but that crashed and burned because she cannot keep up with tireless robot bodies. Alas. She's still real sad about that.

Seeking: Negative CR is welcome too! Long term goals are to challenge some of her notions about relationships and boundaries, but that's gonna be a project. Short term goals are to deal with that Bored and Lonely issue.

Brief history: He's in a delinquent school and gets caught up in a fight that destroyed the one and only section of the school that looked nice. As punishment he's forced into a band with the other fight-causers and create music as community service.

What your character wants/needs: He just got in this month! I would like to gain some general CR to get a start during this month. It may take a while to gain new friends, but at least getting acquaintances would be a plus!

Appearance: [Ref: here!] She features long white hair, golden eyes (notably with purple iris), large pointed elf like-ears, and distinctive red markings on her face. She's about 5'4 currently. She tends to dress in teal or other colors, notably not in the purple robes represented in her icons.
Brief personality: Soft spoken and introverted, she has a reserved demeanor, the kind that's more likely to be found observing from the side of the room than to engage others.
Brief history: Her life is a tragic sort of tale with a year and change of CRAU from Drift Fleet. This significantly affected her and the choices she's made since, thanks to having an extended break from her previous environment and learning how to adjust. More importantly, she had people to talk to during critical moments while she dealt with all sorts of issues, which Helped A Lot in guiding her toward who she is now.
Shipping Preferences: It's complicated...

What your character wants/needs: What she wants is to secure her future with those she cares for, which mostly involves a lot of research of the state of this world and taking risks on information gathering but she's... learning... to be more careful.

What she needs is just, more life lessoning on how to people and how to apply what she's learned to situations as they come up, and she does receive guidance from someone aware of her issues. She also has a whole lot of maternal feelings that she's learning to process, still.

Seeking: More CR building opportunities really!

She is a good listener. Her interests right now are fairly limited due to her general lack of experiences. She's a bit shyer/slower to open up around unfamiliar people, but don't let that stop you. As sort of an antithesis to this, she's the main server at the cafe Affurgato, where her cat Kova is one of the main features.

Brief personality: Sasuke's a kind-hearted, traumatized guy hidden behind a mask of seeming uninterested/uncaring, teasing, money focused, and/or being a proper ninja. He has a soft spot for kids and animals.

Brief history: A lot of people have died in likely two different points in his life when he was a child, leaving him the lone "monkey" with a blood stained face. He's a ninja with huge survivors guilt and fiercely loyal to Yukimura, who he considers his light and would die for. Things aren't going well for the Takeda Army, so that's even more stress on Sasuke. If you want to know more, here is his application.

Shipping Preferences: none, though Sasuke won't be easy about it; see previous denial of being a person instead of a tool to throw away

What your character wants/needs: Hugs. Seriously. I always say that Sasuke needs hugs for how horrible his life has been. He'll also need people who can teach him all this modern stuff and get on his case over how horrible he takes care of himself. Likewise, if he thinks your character needs help, they may find the team mom on them.

Seeking: Sasuke joined the game right when the world went into lockdown, so he's never really settled into the game. He's still feels much like an outsider and disconnected from everything. I'm looking forward to Sasuke exploring what it means to be human instead of a tool and having a heart. He has a lot of trauma in his life, and the guy needs some good in his life. He'll also be good for exploring and collecting information.

He's also not very princely, which can be a problem, because he is one.
Brief history: tired prince goes on a road trip with his bros to get married. kingdom falls overnight. tired prince evolves into tired king, road trip evolves into revenge and reclaim plot. gods wake up to yell in his direction. evolves into tired chosen one. generally a bad time is had by all. on the plus side: there are chocobos.
Shipping Preferences: right now he is romantically rather heartbroken so he's not exactly looking for new prospects. not saying it's impossible, but he's Not In Good Place right now.

What your character wants/needs: he's had a really rough go lately, thanks to an especially mean canon update, so some kind people would be appreciated. friends! or heck even someone aggressive who can help him regain his old moods and tempers by riling him up, maybe. sparring partners welcome.

Brief personality: genuinely a nice person by virtue of an early canonpoint, with about as much baggage as a suitcase factory. gradually remembering the concept of sarcasm and jokes around people he's comfortable with, though his self-worth still needs...a lot of work
Brief history: so once upon a time there was an astonishingly thinly veiled messiah figure, except this time easter was 2000 years late and jesus lucian christ was pissed when he got back.

Brief personality: A cheerful, spirited, curious and empathetic girl constantly teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown over self-image issues and her fears of rejection and all that fun stuff. A good-natured, sheltered kind of kid who sticks her nose into anything that seems to be going wrong because she's too infuriatingly good-natured to know when she needs to leave the hell alone.
Brief history: Built as part of a big secret experiment to create a human-passing robot, the galaxy brains behind this set-up decided it would be a great idea to make all the human thinking and feeling robots with superpowers they were building fight to the death. Labrys vehmently disagreed. It wasn't a great time but now she's free to explore the world and she has cool friends and a Persona so uhhhh silver linings I guess?? Don't worry about it.
Shipping Preferences: I won't say NONE EVER just cos you never know lol but for this first month I'd prefer to just focus on getting her settled with some gen CR!

What your character wants/needs: SOME FRIENDS!!! GODDAMN. Probably some other nonhuman/robotic types who can help her get used to suddenly having All Of The Senses that she didn't have before.

Seeking: Some NICE STRONG GEN CR, because labrys is so anxious about making friends all the time and it hurts my heart. Some Dream CR would be rowdy teens for her to make friends with and get into trouble with, some characters who've been in similar situations to her that she can bounce off of and maybe even some fightin' buddies?? Brief personality: 7' tall in his mind. Forward, demanding, passionate about his work, doesn't know when to stop, but also has respect for things outside of his line of work. Likes his Empire. Sort of acknowledges the existence of his clone son.

Brief history: He's the Research Chief for the Imperial Army and he'll let you know it. Essentially without family despite making approximately 10 million babies in the future. Nothing says that he's in his position because of connections or birthright, so it would seem he got there through sheer hard work, force of will, and being pretty gifted in science.
In Hugtopia he's suspicious of the natives, but not outright hostile towards them. He puts himself and the otherworlders first. He's working hard on his lab and rapidly turning the townhouse he's supposed to share with other people into more lab. Sorry if anyone needed that bedroom, it's a freezer now with bodies in it.
He has one friend and one chemical resistant vacuum oven. He has not combined these two things. Life is going pretty good overall.

Shipping Preferences: I tend towards M / M, but I think Verstael tends more towards people based on their minds. He doesn't usually think much about shipping, but when he does expect that he'll formally request if you would like to copulate.

What your character wants/needs: Maybe two friends.
He needs more allies to conspire with for his various plans.

His nickname among fellow demon slayers is Mommy, and nicely sums up what kind of person he is.

Brief history: Tanjiro is the eldest of six and worked hard to make ends meat for his family, until one day he comes home to them being brutally murdered. Also his sister was turned into a demon. He made a vow to find a way to turn his sister back to normal, and also to find who was responsible for murdering his whole family.

Shipping Preferences: there's some developments for this boy, but I'm always down with one-sided crushes and misunderstandings.

What your character wants/needs: People bringing up to speed. He's a bit disoriented, ICly he's been in a coma for most of Lasai and just woke up at the beginning of Ealom/May. Has a tendency to put his own needs/wants on the backburner for you and it's starting to burn him out. He could use a healthy bond these days.

- I would love to see someone that will remind him of Miguel or Vanessa (people who have used people for their gain, having no regard for the people they con in the process, etc.) really test Alfyn's patience and get him angry/not on his good side, for once. Make him get fierce~.

- Would be curious if there's characters out there that might take advantage of the fact that Alfyn can make poisons and harmful chemicals...

- I'm hoping that Alfyn can set up a clinic at one point... Anyone would be interested in helping make this happen or at least have IC plans towards this later?

- Alfyn is a walking sunshine who will talk to just about anyone, so don't worry if your character is an introvert. He'll talk for the both of them. Always down for friends!

- Because of how trusting he is, it can be easy to take advantage of that. so if your character is someone who might resort to using him? I could consent to potential negative CR with plotting.

Brief personality: Studious helicopter mom friend. Loves puns and word play. Incredibly dedicated, actually to his detriment. Used to being the only responsible one. Not actually as serious as he can come across.
Brief history: As a child he made a promise to always be by the prince's side, and he'll be damned if he ever failed at that promise. He grew up in court, learned the ins and outs of things, and would gladly have become the prince's right hand man if, you know, this wasn't a video game and things weren't going to hit the fan. The prince and his merry band of chucklefucks went out on a pre-marital road trip, their home city got ransacked in a peace deal gone sour (big F to Ignis' fam), the prince's uncle decided to fuck shit up and get revenge and also the world is blighted and there are daemons everywhere. Also sometimes you just put on a magical ring that burns you from the inside out with magical power and you lose your vision but it's fine, it was to protect your prince, it's fine.

Brief history: damn, like, where do i even begin with her. Pyra isn't her true name, it's Pneuma. Pneuma was part of an three-party entity that was split apart. she's not human, she's literally that crystal you see on her chest, she's a construct who kinda emerged from a crystal that was stolen from her world's god's side after it was imprinted with humanity, and oh no what does she do now with that humanity, it totally messed that crystal up and also ended up causing a massive amount of damage to her world. everyone's looking for her and fighting over her now, all her old comrades are dead and/or trying to kill or use her. none of them know what she truly is. also she can see the future and change it. also also she can bring people back to life and restore forms. also also also she's set to destroy the world and mayyybe remake it, but she doesn't want to destroy it in the first place, so she's trying to not do that, but It's Complicated!

Shipping Preferences: well somnus and her were in love, but now he's left so rn she's just bleeding. it's okay tho, it's internal bleeding, where the blood is supposed to be! many more important hurt people to care about and focus on, which she will. she'll always focus on you. you are very important to her, but not enough for her to bother to heal you with her own power if you should be dying in front of her because she fears her own power. she'll still call you beautiful tho.

-- first of all, she wants to hold your hand. she wants to return to her world so she can go save it because (spoilers) and the longer she stays here, the more dangerous it becomes, and she's currently operating under the assumption that if they restore this world, they'll eventually be allowed/permitted to return home. this assumption also helps her in other ways, too. she's working on a number of different projects, and since holding hands = part of the economy, she has no problem doing it. but wait, there's more! she also wants to hold your hand just because. that's right, above all, she's extremely grateful to hold anyone's hands, but by all means she won't correct you if you believe she's just pragmatic. which isn't technically wrong, just that there's more to it. she's like an onion, she has layers.

Brief personality: Quiet. The quietest. She's in a constant existential crisis because she had to grow up a little too fast and never figured out who she was allowed to be, because she's not (in her opinion) a very good pikmin OR a very good person! Thought it'd be for the best if she just existed in the background and people forgot about her, but found out that SUCKS because she'd really like to belong somewhere. She's doing her best! To figure things out! Kinda socially awkward, but very willing to hold your hand.

She loves loves books and consuming all knowledge. Not so secretly a huge fantasy nerd. Very fond of robots. She's probably not going to be super phased by a lot of weird events because that's Normal for her.

Brief history: Vianca comes from a really weird place called Smash Academy that was chock full of oddities and interdimensional students and all that fun stuff. Havenwell is like, super normal to her. She pretty much lived her whole life at this school run by giant hands where half the students were actually Pokemon or whatever but they learned how to be people and I know its weird, I promise I do. She's had some Trauma, was a school nurse assistant, and was put in charge of a giant interdimensional library. Then she died! Yay!

Current State of Things: We can all safely assume she's been holed up in her shop/the library for a while. She probably went out to investigate at least a little bit...! She's been on the backburner for a bit there 8(

Brief personality: TL;DR: Will is an extra AF, theatrical, goofy dumbass. So basically just a cat. He's bubbly, affectionate, melodramatic, curious to a fault, a bit of a troll, and would by far rather not take anything seriously if he can help it. He's very much a people person, all too happy to latch onto less spirited and extraverted characters to drag them along in the wake of his shenanigans--possibly literally, if draping or flopping on someone doesn't get him launched across the room.
Brief history: Abducted as a child to be raised as a masked, thoroughly indoctrinated and manipulated minion in Team Rocket, Will grew up as Doing A Crime and just generally being kind of an awful person. Once he escaped, he traveled the world to train and lay low for a while, until his battle prowess grew to the point that he was accepted into Johto's Elite Four. Now he's enjoying the security and prestige of such an influential position while he tries to stay on the Straight and Narrow, and just generally figuring out what a normal life even is. (Do you eat it?)
Shipping Preferences: Will's got a boyfriend, so he's not really looking for anything more than that. But he seems to have a habit of obliviously running facefirst into Chemistry, so if something develops organically? Welp~

What your character wants/needs: Friendship, mostly? He's overall pretty happy in Havenwell, trusts the NPCs and their gods, and somewhat invested in seeing this world coming back to life. And that means making lots of friends and getting cozy with them!
Seeking: Abusing psychic/empathy bullshit for CR opportunities, anyone? He has an opt in/opt out post, if you want to do something with that. Or using his Pokémon as NPCs to help kickstart things, if your character happens to like animals better than people? I need to focus on broadening and deepening CR since I don't have any real concrete plotting going down, and I've been absolute balls at tagging consistently recently. So if you want them to meet or get closer somehow, hit me up! I'm sure we can figure out something.
