September Event Plotting Post
Feel free to use this entry for plotting purposes as you please, and use the Mod Question thread below for any questions.
A log will be posted on the day the event begins, but characters are welcome to create their own entries as well.
❥ PROMPT I: A Clean Getaway
With all of the work to be done prepping for the upcoming winter, it's no surprise that some are looking for new ways to refresh themselves and relax, and what better time would there be to open up the Public Baths! All the volunteer work cleaning the place has paid off, and the facilities are officially open and available for use. It is technically free to use, as a public facility, but those visiting are encouraged to tithe a small donation once in a while to pay for upkeep and freshen up the place, provide new soaps, etc. No judgment if you can't! It'll just make everything that much nicer in the long run.
The baths are separated into a few sections: oil baths for the native residents, and water baths for the offworlders. For obvious reasons, offworlders are encouraged not to enter the robot-residential sections! Though they are not strictly forbidden... it would be quite messy and bad for your health.
The offworlder half has additional separated sections that may interest characters when they visit:
1) Hot Springs Style - Clothed or Unclothed: there are 3 available rooms for each, one for separate presented genders, and a shared bath for those comfortable with the concept or don't wish to use either male or female. Each room has one larger pool and a few smaller sets, so you can sit by yourself or with others as you please.
2) Pool: a shared public pool! The water is nice and cool, which should be a comfort to those still struggling with the lingering summer heat. There is some water game equipment available for open use if people want to play and get their sports on.
3) Sauna: similar to the springs, once again, there are 3 rooms for gender splits so everyone can enjoy the place at their own comfort level.
It all seems very nice and relaxing for everyone, but this wouldn't be a proper event without some shenanigans now, would it? There are a few effects that may occur within the baths, and these effects are somewhat random. Some characters may experience them to a powerful degree, while others feel nothing at all. Players can decide for themselves who and where these will affect, so feel free to mix, match, and go wild. The effects are:

❥ PROMPT II: REM Stands for Realistic Emotional Memory in These Parts
Characters who were around last year might remember a bout of strange and sporadic dreams that plagued the town around this season, along with the sensation that they were being followed. This year, dreams once more enter uninvited to one's mind, but this time, it occurs as a random daydream while they are awake, and it is very different from person to person- instead encouraging you to do the following. All visions start out hazy, like a grainy old movie where details and figures are difficult to make out, but there is something both familiar and alien about it. It feels like a memory… but it is not your memory. Over time, the visual begins to clear the more often the dream repeats, until slowly the images grow more distinct, offering clearer faces, the addition of voices, discernable quotes or expressions. The memory will provide hints as to who it might belong to, though the subtlety of those hints will likely vary. Before too long, if you have not found a way to rid yourself of the dream, you will experience an entire memory of another person in town as if you were witnessing it from their perspective!
Now, how does one rid themselves of these strange visions? - those whose memory has been borrowed may find it difficult to recall it; it can seem fuzzy and indistinct, missing entirely or simply missing choice details. Through physical contact, that memory will fully return to them and both participants can experience it together.
- you can find your partner accidentally! If you're still searching for clues and happen to touch your partner through other circumstances - such as shake their hand at first meeting, or hug a friend - you may find both of you are suddenly experiencing a memory together as it is transferred! Aren't you lucky, to have found your partner so easily?
❥ PROMPT III: I Shall Fight With My Bear Hands
Closer to the tail end of the month, one of the research facilities distributes a "Help Wanted" advertisement through the network, requesting the aid of offworlders. The advertisement reads:
"Calling all offworlders! Havenwell Research and Development is seeking volunteers for both physical prowess and supernatural ability testing. All are welcome! Even if you have no combat skills and feel only a desire to learn, we have a job for you. Those who already possess some form of self-defense or combative powers will be partnered and asked to "spar" in a partially digitized facility, or proceed with a simulation that will gauge destructive capabilities. And for those who possess neither, don't worry! Our program is specially designed to help you discover just where your talents lie.
No harm should come to any volunteers, as this is strictly simulation-based, similar to the virtual reality technology already widely used throughout the city. However, in case of any accidents, medical staff is on site to treat injuries as needed. Additionally, there is no need for you to wear any of the VR headgear typically required in our cafes, so if these devices cause you discomfort, this may be a simulation that better meets your needs.
Please contact us ASAP if you are willing and able to help. A monetary commission will be awarded upon completion of each session."
Any volunteers or inquiries will be provided with more information, and invited to one of the research towers located in town. They are guided to a floor that is abuzz with activity, partnered with whoever happens to be scheduled at the same time or a partner they themselves opted to bring with them, and taken to a room akin to Star Trek's holodeck. There, they can input "powers" or "no powers", and a simulation will be created for them based on their selected guidelines.
With Powers:
The console invites characters to select one of two options- their own abilities, or temporarily gain access to the elemental powers offered via AC Rewards (point levels 50, 100, and 200). They are able to choose a particular power level for the duration of the simulation, which can either dampen their natural abilities to a more fair level for the test you're undertaking, or remain normal. While in the simulation room, rather than actually using any real abilities, the room will materialize whatever ability you choose without causing true damage to either the room or your opponent. Science, or magic? It's probably both. Feel free to go wild and have fun, maybe try some powers you've never experienced before or vent your frustrations on being stuck here!
Without Powers:
The console invites characters to select a type of weapon and skill level, and said weapon will materialize in a basic form; while held inside the room it moves and feels real, but it cannot be removed from the facility. Those who are skilled in utilizing said weapon are free to wield it as if it were the genuine article in their chosen simulation. Those without much or any skill will be walked through a tutorial on basic techniques from a variety of styles, old or new, most unfamiliar but well suited to the body type of the person using the program. It's quite intuitive, though it is by no means perfect, so characters might end up being guided through a stranger workout than intended.
For versus mode, each participant has an HP bar displayed above their heads, and everyone has the same HP unless both players select an unbalanced mode, and the goal is to force your opponent to hit zero HP. Characters can also choose how realistic the simulated violence is and how the process feels: in low realism, it's similar to laser tag, where characters flash a colour when hit and take damage without feeling anything more than some uncomfortable vibration. In high realism, pain is genuine to a certain degree depending on how high a level they choose, though it is artificial and will fade as soon as the program ends. Hitting zero HP will not result in a knock-out, but characters will feel dizzy and be forced to sit down, unable to rise again until they surrender. All effects wear off as soon as the simulation ends.
For demonstration mode, participants are given a selection of virtual targets to practice on using whatever method of combat they've chosen. It could be moving targets, such as creatures that have invaded the barrier previously (via the Wild Wild prompt), or simulations of the more dangerous beasts in the museum/zoo areas of town. It could be simple targets built to take a beating without providing much challenge in return. It could be a collection of buildings that characters can break or explode as they please. This mode is designed to gauge just how strong a person's destructive potential is, either with their own powers or with powers granted to those who have been blessed by their patron god.
Characters are welcome to volunteer as many times as there are available partners and/or slots! So feel free to try a few times using different options.

Last year, some offworlders might remember the tradition of sharing stories in the temple of Ohma, to offer small tributes to the god on their first month of devotion. It is that time of the year again, and everyone is welcome to return and share more stories, or perhaps retell an old favourite to a new audience. Here is the event as described previously:
Ohma's temple is particularly lively during Ohnir and the priests are busy cleaning and sweeping, decorating it with rolls of parchment and digital inkwells and quills that write as if they were actually fountain pens. The natives, especially adherents of Ohma, start to make pilgrimages to the temple in little processions, some playing music, others flying banners.
Anyone who chooses to follow can observe the natives going up to the altar and sharing stories with one another. They talk about things they did over the past year or things that are far, far in their past. Some of the stories are happy and result in the procession laughing and some are...well, not everyone returns safely from certain disasters that befall the city throughout the year. The priests diligently write every story down on those parchment rolls and deposit them onto the waiting altar, where they're summarily lit on fire to the cheers of those present. The more emotional the story it seems, the brighter and bluer the flame that it emits and the louder the procession cheers.
As the file out, they notice you watching and urge you to go up with someone else in the temple to clear your heart and offer up your own stories. They can be stories of home, information about your worlds, or stories about your life.

So, If a character's current 'memory' in a sense has been blocked or tampered with, are these memories that might be floating around based upon what only the character currently "remembers", or can it uncover something they potentially weren't fully aware of?
If not, if their technical memory of an event was sort of from someone-elses-pov because they... accidentally absorbed memories that just happened to relate to them personally

Verstael Besithia | FFXV
Verstael will definitely visit the baths to see if any historical artwork was uncovered or any other clues. Perhaps someone could convince him to join them? Or at least tell him to get out of the bathing room with all his clothes on.

Magolor | Kirby
1. Hot Springs!!! Magolor is a fan of these, having lived on a volcanic planet for so long. He will definitely go for it. The awkwardness comes with him juggling his desire for a nice hot springs soak with his desire to cover up 80% of his body, so he will probably try to sneak in at some weird time when no one's around, but the event has got my back by having this option have a relaxation effect! SO long story short, he will probably end up actually naked around people one way or another and anyone who wants a look at that, hop on in. This sounds so much weirder than I meant for it to. l, look,
2. Memory Share! I am happy to do this if anyone is down for it! You're not going to get anything traumatizing out of Magolor but you very well could get the knowledge that he is/was actually a villain character if you want!
3. Battle Royale! Magolor will be highly suspicious of this setup, and also, he dislikes fighting and advertising his powers without reason. So he won't participate, but he is going to try and get in and watch other people's sparring. If his attempts fail I'll probably do a prompt of him getting thrown out on his ass, and if they succeed, please, allow him to do annoying color commentary on your duels. You know you want to. (pending mod answer to my question above!)

Kaworu Nagisa // Evangelion
Well, kaworu never experienced hot springs or sauna (pool is fine)! So this will be fun. Just be careful because he is VERY touchy-feeling if you give him the opportunity; he is also naturally inclined to share so he won't be much different even under the special effects those have. And being naked is also not a problem to him I'm sorry this boy does not know what shame is. BUT- he does love water a loooooooot; he has a strong connection to it, so he will stay at the pool for ages - swimming, floating or just sinking into the bottom (don't worry, he doesn't need to breathe so he won't suffocate).
REM
Kaworu's memories are all pretty awful, apart from perhaps meeting Shinji or mundane things such as playing instruments, reading books or watching the night sky. Everything else is very triggering and downright awful, so for this I will make locked prompts for people who want them? He considers them "happy" in a way, but they are awful, involving death and cloning and human experimentation. THINGS LIKE THAT. So, unless someone really wants them (and i will make closed prompts for them), there won't be many memories from Kaworu. I'm cool with Kaworu seeing other people's memories, though!!
Memory Lane
WELLP Kaworu will be watching and listening to all of this AMAZED because lilin sharing stories is AMAZING. His story will be extremely weird because he will talk about Lilith and Adam and EXPLAIN THE BASIS OF EVANGELION so good luck trying to follow! :D

He barely shows skin for some stupid reason, so he's probably not going to be around at the hot springs... More like I currently got no idea what to do for this prompt, so I am all up for bouncing ideas around.

Satoru's got A LOT of backstory people can (maybe) enjoy! Jujutsu sorcerer life is full of triggers (mainly death, monsters/ghosts/spirits, negative human emotions of all kinds), and I understand this isn't everyone's cup of tea, especially the death portion. If you'd like to have your character see his memories, please let me know and we can plan something out!
Otherwise, I'm absolutely all for having him see your characters' memories. 8)

Satoru's acquired a teeny bit of Air magic earlier this month so he's going to try them out while on his own. Otherwise, he's due for a good workout, so he's definitely going to be around for some sparring whether it be with or without his powers!

Peach will definitely want to go to the hot springs, because it's just her jam. She'll 100% visit the gendered ones and keep a towel on her because she's shy like that, but she'll likely be super open to talk about herself and her feelings - and listen to others talk about those as well even more than usual.

Ciel has been working on the baths for months so he'll definitely be enjoying some time there. He's very proud of the fact that they have it up and running now.
He'll mostly be in the clothed baths, because Canon Trauma, but he'll be happy to socialize while there.
And since he learned to swim in his last game, he'll probably be swimming in the pools as well. Probably not well but he can keep himself afloat and move about. He just needs practice which he can do now!

Finally it is time for our anime hot springs episode!!! Thank you so much mods
Shinji's likely to end up at the hot springs portion of the bath house more often than any other - the sauna is interesting but maybe also not entirely his speed, and he. uh. can't swim. So the pool's only really a viable place for him to hang out if someone he knows is there and doesn't mind him not participating at all. Unless you want someone to toss him in the water?? I'd be game for it.

For the most part I'd prefer to try and hash out stuff one-on-one when it comes to who sees what for his memories with the with this prompt, but I can definitely pull out some less-traumatic stuff for him if anyone's interested in setting up some new cr or generally tamer threads through the memory shares! Just let me know! On the flip-side I am super interested in having him experience other people's memories and seeing what sorts of wild things have happened to everyone else here.
Zenitsu Agatsuma | Kimetsu no Yaiba
The last time hot springs were mentioned, he was tasked with having to find one. So of course he'd want to relax in one!! Now someone will have to explain what a pool is to him because it's a teeny bit after his time. Like a few years. Since he's a grandpa he'd also want to try the sauna out too.

Zenitsu's memories won't be shared, but I'm all up for him seeing other people's memories! Now would he be able to help out is another question because he'd probably be busy freaking out about having weird memories.

-he'll probably be playing around in the pool, he's really missed swimming! up for some light shenanigans. (body-shy due to scars so he'll probably be wearing a swim shirt)
-if he ends up in the hot spring area he'll do clothed only but he'd be fine with male or mixed rooms.
-I'm open to memory sharing if anyone wants in! he's got a wide variety of life experiences so memories shared can easily be tailored to whoever he ends up sharing with. can offer:

-probably won't be doing versus mode unless requested specifically, but for power sharing there are a few new things he's been itching to try, so having a partner to mess around with could be neat. he has a magic ring and elemancy for weaponless mode, and a variety of blades for weapons. (gotta try out those Lucii spells and his new throwing star!)
lup:
-is absolutely going to be checking out the hot spring and gives zero hecks about clothes or no clothes. she'll be happy to soak in the heat and be in whichever room she damn well pleases to be in. prepare to be dragged. will probably end up in the pool as well, and she's always down for spicy gossip in the sauna. she certainly has some recent grievances to throw down, though it's been a few months since a somewhat bitter breakup >>;
-lup can also give and receive some interesting memories, though limited canon means it'd either be made up or limited group shenanigans. some basic ideas:
=growing up as a neglected twin mostly on the road with taako
=learning the basics of magic
=going to school! fantasy NASA school! that's pretty rad
=falling in love with a soft boy over music theory ( 〃▽〃)
=becoming a lich ＼(º □ º l|l)/
=some sad death/isolation-related stuff...
-lup is incredibly resilient so she can probably handle any memory that someone wants to throw at them. i personally also do not have any triggers really so /gestures give me the drama if you feel that itch!!
-for training sims she has a lot of magic that she would LOVE to use to explode things, but more than anything else she needs to get practice learning to use her new magic scythe she recently acquired through AC rewards. so if anyone wants to have some fun with weapons training and helping her angrily fumble through learning a new skill, that's a thing that could happen. though she will regret attempting it in public lol.

- In regard to her memories! There's a chance for her to legitimately regain her own memories from her perspective as opposed to what she 'knows' via circumstance. Which means there's a lot that's fair game here, bittersweet and REALLY NOT GREAT, considering there's a lot she just doesn't talk about anyway, but again we should talk about anything first and see what might be best/relevant because context.
some possibilities include;
- early and actually not in anything she is able to recall right now, i.e. anything that might have actually happened on her home planet that she does not remember in relation to herself, like something having to do with meeting her cat for the first time or or preparing to leave the planet for Exciting! Opportunity! elsewhere
- meeting her husband for the first time/her preoccupation with the lab/some cute anticipation of their child/their planet being in danger
- post- loss of memory/sense of self, this probably gets iffy, but likely something of how [the Emperor] reinforces that she's "someone else" and also him telling a child that his mother is "gone" despite her being present
- potentially something more recent involving her son
and then i listed more specific things anyway l-lmao, but it's still like, gonna be weird without context no matter what.
- If anyone has any particular memories they'd like to send her way, let me know! Pretty open in that regard, whatever you think might help build CR or otherwise, given she does mind her business usually unless the other person wants to share more, but certain things are more likely to ping than others.
And as always she might be found at Affurgato or potentially investigating areas, if not in the baths; if someone figured out she was the person they needed to track down. Or incidentally if they were trying to figure out someone else's memory and needed some kind of help with how to deal with that, could be a potential option there.

Cloud will be inspecting the baths to see what work people have done and to see the mural. Feel free to try and persuade him to join in the sports pool/not springs/sauna. If you’ve got enough positive CR it’ll be easy to persuade him even if it’s a grumpy “FINE :/” And if you’re lucky….you might get him to be a bit more talkative than usual.

Ok Cloud’s life is an entire massive trainwreck. Not every memory is bad and I will probably throw in some good ones in there to balance out the bad. Maybe some comical ones thrown in there too. As for some repressed memories, I’m probably mostly keeping them hidden for the moment save for one possible memory.
But various options include, but are not limited to:
- The promise he made to Tifa.
- A memory of his mother pushing him about getting a girlfriend/or his mother’s burning house if we want to be depressing.
- Shittalking with Barret
- Any scenes with Aerith – buying a flower from her/getting dragged into picking flowers with her/the playground scene where they talk and bond/learning to high five.
- Any scenes with Tifa – where Cloud gives her Aerith’s flower/where Cloud says he remembers the promise/where Cloud has a drink with Tifa and tries to sound really cool when ordering said drink.
- Any scenes with Biggs, Wedge and Jessie and him bonding with them (eg. Wedge’s cats, Jessie winding him up, Cloud smiling when they’re joking about an injury Wedge has)
- THAT DANCING AT THE HONEY BEE INN
- That uncovered memory of being in a glass tank. :(
- (TENTATIVE) POSSIBLY that memory of Zack giving him encouragement without giving too much away.
Fighting simulation
Cloud would normally be all for fighting and showing off but he's not sure about participating for the research until he knows more about what's going on (thanks Verstael). He will certainly watch though.

Oh! How nostalgic! The first public baths/pools (and laundries, for that matter!) in England were set up in the city where Dot grew up so she likely experienced them a a child and young adult. She'll absolutely visit the ladies side. You can likely catch her checking out the pool too. She'll have no qualms talking about herself but she's especially interested in listening to you dish about yourselves . 8)

I'm super interested in sharing some of Dot's totally bizarre memories and would love for that to be some of y’alls first impressions of her, lol. III. FIGHTIN TIME
Despite her size, Dot is surprisingly strong and no stranger to fighting. She's skilled at hand-to-hand combat and knows her way around a knife and a gun (though she likely wouldn't be using the latter into the simulations in the interest of fairness.) She'll definitely take place in the exhibitions and the verus mode if there’s interest.
IV. Memory Lane
Ohma is her assigned god, though she hasn’t totally figured that out yet. She’s familiar with the temple, though, since it’s where she showed up, so she’s likely to stop by there just because it’s somewhere she knows how to get to. She’ll gladly share stories (be it some of the memories from above or otherwise) and very attentively listen to the stories of others. Don’t mind her as she takes notes while you talk, though. It’s probably unrelated... probably...
Hummy | Suite Precure♪ [Ainea]
Oh she’s a cat so she must hate water, right? PSYCHE Hummy canonically doesn’t really seem to mind water at all. Put that cat in the pool and splash around with her, just do it. I don’t…know if she knows how to swim, though. Maybe you can teach her! Or get her some floaties! Or, i dunno, MISTAKE HER FOR A POOL TOY AS SHE FLOATS PAST?
She will also check out the hot springs, mostly hanging out in the shallows of both the ladies and mixed areas. Just lounging, like cats do best.
